Amaravati, January 05, 2026: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced a ₹100-crore reward for the first Nobel Prize winner in quantum computing whose research originates in Andhra Pradesh.

Made during a December 2025 student interaction, the offer aims to spark world-class innovation and position the state as a deep-tech leader.

The initiative ties into broader plans for a “Quantum Valley” in Amaravati, one of the state's emerging knowledge hubs alongside Visakhapatnam and Tirupati.

Naidu envisions producing quantum computers within two years, training over one lakh professionals, and creating high-value jobs in fields like personalised medicine, green energy, and advanced manufacturing. The state has already seen massive interest, with thousands registering for quantum skilling programs.
