Amaravati, January 04, 2026: State ministers handed over compensation to affected onion growers in a Kodumur event in Kurnool district.

Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu and Industries Minister T.G. Bharath oversaw the process, stressing quick action on the Chief Minister's promise.

Unfavorable weather last year led to low-quality harvests and losses for farmers in these key districts.

Authorities identified 31,352 beneficiaries in Kurnool alone who received ₹99.92 crore, part of the total ₹50,000 per hectare aid. The government doubled earlier relief norms to ease the burden on growers.
