Amaravati, January 03, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh government has laid the foundation for a ₹5 crore multi-sports academy at the Sri Srinivasa Sports Complex in Tirupati.

Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh Chairman A. Ravi Naidu performed the bhoomi puja, marking the start of construction on this national-standard facility.

The academy will feature a residential hostel for 200 athletes, a weightlifting hall for 80 trainees, dedicated spaces for gymnastics, judo, lawn tennis, badminton, chess, and other indoor-outdoor sports, plus a meeting hall for 150 people.

It aims to serve as a comprehensive hub for identifying and nurturing talent across the state, offering professional coaching and infrastructure on par with leading national centres.
