Amaravati, January 02, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh State Irrigation Development Corporation (APSIDC) will prioritize lift irrigation projects to bring uncultivated land under farming in North Andhra districts.

Director Kotagiri Narayana Rao announced this after the corporation's board meeting endorsed the approach in principle. The goal is to make full use of available water resources so farmers can grow two crops yearly and secure better earnings.

Officials have directed district Collectors in Vizianagaram, Parvatipuram-Manyam, and Srikakulam to hold meetings with Irrigation Department engineers. These sessions will help prepare and finalize project proposals for review at the next APSIDC meeting.
