Amaravati, January 02, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham has pressed the state government to enact a new law protecting tenant farmers, especially those working temple and inam lands.

Leaders say the repeal of the 2019 Cultivators’ Rights Act without a replacement has denied thousands legal safeguards, crop loans, compensation, and welfare benefits.

The group calls for identity cards for all tenant farmers, eligibility under Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, and ₹20,000 annual assistance extended to lease cultivators. They highlight heavy debts faced by these farmers and warn of stronger protests if demands go unmet soon.
