Amaravati, December 31, 2025: Visakhapatnam Police have closed the Beach Road stretch from Park Hotel Junction to NTR Statue for all vehicles starting 8 p.m. on December 31, with reopening at 5 a.m. on January 1.

The move handles the large crowds expected for New Year's Eve festivities along RK Beach, a longtime hotspot for year-end gatherings in the city.

Additional restrictions include closure of the Telugu Thalli flyover and select middle lanes on BRTS roads to ease flow and support emergency access. Authorities deploy drone surveillance, multiple checkpoints for drunken driving, and ‘She Teams’ at key spots like RK Beach and Novotel Junction to protect women and curb harassment. Firecrackers stay banned on the beach, and night swimming is prohibited for safety.
