Amaravati, December 31, 2025: Cybercrime cases in Andhra Pradesh's NTR district declined 45.05% in 2025, according to year-end data from the Vijayawada Police Commissionerate.

Overall cognizable offences dropped 21.66%, from 11,977 in 2024 to 9,503 this year. Property crimes fell nearly 40%, crimes against women 15%, POCSO cases 24%, and road accidents 24%, with fatalities down from 454 to 366.

Officials credit the reductions to new tools including face recognition systems, drone surveillance, expanded CCTV, electronic force deployment, and the Astram app for faster response. Detection rates for property offences rose to over 80%, and court convictions improved to 50%.
