Amaravati, December 29, 2025: Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar performed the bhoomi puja and laid the foundation stone for key infrastructure in Guntur city.

In Guntur West constituency's 28th division, he initiated construction of an Urban Primary Health Centre at nearly Rs 1 crore. This facility will reduce pressure on Guntur Government Hospital by providing primary care closer to residents.

In Guntur East, at BR Stadium, he laid the foundation for a new Elevated Level Service Reservoir under the AMRUT 2 scheme, costing Rs 4.6 crore.

The project addresses aging water tanks from decades ago that suffer from corrosion and weak structures. New designs feature 50% thicker roofs, full internal plastering, and epoxy coating for 50-year durability. Seven such tanks are planned statewide, with completion targeted within a year for the first.
