Amaravati, December 29, 2025: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president YS Sharmila Reddy marked the 141st Congress Foundation Day by calling for a strong mass movement to achieve a "BJP-mukt Bharat."

She described Congress as India's guiding compass, crediting it with leading the freedom struggle and building modern foundations. Sharmila accused the BJP and its affiliates of eroding democratic values, distorting freedom fighters' legacy, attempting constitutional changes, exploiting resources, weakening institutions, and fostering religious divisions through groups like the RSS.

She declared the need for a "second freedom struggle" to protect the nation's unity and dignity. Sharmila urged party workers to draw inspiration from past sacrifices and prepare for sustained agitation under Congress leadership to reclaim true democracy.
