Amaravati, December 28, 2025: Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman travelled by road from Vijayawada to Pedamainavanilanka (PM Lanka) in Narasapuram mandal, West Godavari district, her adopted village under development initiatives.
She arrived at the Digital Building around 11 am and inaugurated infrastructure worth ₹18 lakh at the local Zilla Parishad high school, including computers, science labs, and digital learning tools funded by Union Bank. Sitharaman stressed education as the key to national progress and global standing, urging students to pursue higher studies and sports.
She also launched drone and AI training for fisherfolk, reviewed student artwork on Viksit Bharat–Digital India themes, and inspected the ongoing sea protection embankment (₹13.50–13.72 crore project, 55% complete, due January 2026) to combat coastal erosion.
