Amaravati, December 27, 2025: A tragic incident unfolded in Mandadam village, Amaravati capital region, when Dondapati Ramarao (also reported as D Rama Rao or M Ramulu), aged 68-70, suffered a fatal heart attack during a consultation meeting.

The session, led by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Ponguru Narayana and attended by Tadikonda MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar, focused on land acquisition and alignment for proposed road works tied to the capital project's infrastructure needs.

Ramarao voiced support for development but urged authorities to provide displaced families with alternative housing near Thallayapalem village, complete with basic facilities. Shortly after speaking, he sat down and collapsed.

Immediate CPR was attempted, and he was transported in the minister's convoy vehicle to a hospital, where doctors confirmed cardiac arrest as the cause, consistent with his prior history of heart issues and stents.
