Amaravati, December 26 2025: The State Health and Family Welfare Department has signed an agreement with private firm Red Wing to deploy drones for transporting essential medical supplies to hard-to-reach tribal areas.

The initiative targets primary and community health centres in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, using Paderu as the central hub to cover a 60-80 km radius.

Drones, equipped with cold-chain technology, will carry up to 2 kg payloads including medicines, vaccines, and blood units while returning with diagnostic samples like blood, urine, and stool for lab testing.
