Amaravati, December 25, 2025: Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) and Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the state Secretariat today.
They submitted a formal request to create the Greater Vijayawada Municipal Corporation by incorporating around 75 surrounding villages into the existing Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.
The leaders highlighted key gains: stronger industrial corridors, IT parks, logistics hubs, and tourism projects to drive jobs. They also stressed a better-integrated water supply, flood management, and smoother administration across current district lines between NTR and Krishna.
These changes would tackle ongoing issues in policing, transport, law and order, and airport oversight. Naidu responded favourably, assuring the government will study the ideas with Vijayawada's long-term needs in focus.
