Amaravati, December 25: NTR district police are set to introduce an advanced Device Health Monitoring System (DHMS), centralising nearly 10,000 CCTV cameras under one platform for constant oversight.
Using IoT technology and automatic binary checks running 1,440 times daily per camera, the system detects faults like power cuts or connectivity drops early, ensuring reliable footage and longer storage to preserve evidence.
NTR Commissioner of Police SV Rajashekhar Babu described it as a force multiplier that provides instant access to live and archived video, easing investigations while reducing technical failures. The rollout, already covering over 8,700 cameras, will reach full integration soon and include police station devices for better maintenance planning.
