Amaravati, December 25, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department has partnered with Redwing, a healthtech firm experienced in similar operations in Arunachal Pradesh, to launch drone-based delivery of essential medical supplies.

The pact, signed in Vijayawada by Commissioner G Veerapandian and Redwing representative Kundan Madireddy, targets isolated tribal regions in Alluri Sitharama Raju district.

Paderu will serve as the central hub. Drones with 2 kg payload capacity and cold-chain features will supply medicines, vaccines, and blood units to Primary Health Centres and Community Health Centres within 60-80 km. They will also return samples like blood, urine, and stool for testing. Services begin as a free proof-of-concept phase lasting six to seven months, with operations expected to ramp up by late January.
