Newsroom, December 23, 2025: A passenger suffered a displaced nasal fracture after an off-duty Air India Express captain allegedly assaulted him at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 1 on December 19.

Ankit Dewan, travelling with his family, objected to the staff cutting the security line. The captain, Virender Sejwal, reportedly responded with verbal abuse before the physical attack, leaving Dewan bleeding. His seven-year-old daughter witnessed the incident and faced trauma.

Delhi Police registered an FIR on December 22 under sections for causing hurt and wrongful restraint. Air India Express removed the captain from duties pending probe. The airline condemned the act and pledged cooperation.
