Newsroom, December 23, 2025: Delhi residents faced toxic air on Tuesday morning. Thick fog and haze pushed the average Air Quality Index to 414, landing in the severe category. At least 27 monitoring stations recorded readings over 400, with hotspots like Anand Vihar reaching 470 and several areas entering severe-plus territory. Low visibility disrupted flights and trains, delaying hundreds.

Calm winds and cold temperatures trapped pollutants from vehicles, industries, and dust. Authorities enforced strict curbs under advanced anti-pollution plans. Health experts warn of risks to lungs and hearts, especially for vulnerable groups.
