Newsroom, December 23, 2025: Fresh unrest grips Bangladesh following the death of youth leader Sharif Osman Hadi, triggering mob violence and targeted attacks on minorities. A Hindu garment worker, Dipu Chandra Das, was lynched in Mymensingh over alleged blasphemy claims, drawing sharp international concern from the UN and US lawmakers. Media offices faced arson, while another student leader was shot in Khulna.

In response, Hindu groups staged heated protests outside Bangladesh missions in Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Jammu, demanding protection for minorities. Bangladesh summoned India's High Commissioner, citing security threats to its diplomatic sites after vandalism incidents. Interim leader Muhammad Yunus reaffirmed plans for February elections but faces criticism over law and order.
