Amaravati, December 23, 2025: Andhra Pradesh launches Avakai, the Amaravati Festival of Cinema, Culture and Literature, in Vijayawada from January 8 to 10. Held at Punnami Ghat and Bhavani Island, the free public event spotlights Telugu cinema and literature amid rising national interest in regional narratives. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu envisioned the festival, organised by the state tourism authority and produced by Teamwork Arts.

Activities include film screenings, panel talks, poetry and mushaira sessions, music, dance, theatre, puppetry, heritage trails and curated food experiences. It transforms public spaces into vibrant hubs for creativity and dialogue.
