Amaravati, December 23, 2025: Andhra Pradesh saw overall crime fall 5.5% in 2025, with 1,04,095 cases registered compared to 1,10,111 in the same period of 2024. Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta presented the data to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during a review meeting.

Cyber crimes dropped sharply from 2,853 to 1,771 cases, while crimes against women eased from 16,913 to 16,288. Sixteen districts logged declines, though ten showed increases.

Efforts like drone surveillance, which detected nearly 7,000 offenses, and operations tracing missing persons helped curb issues. Authorities also froze assets in fraud cases and cracked down on drugs and rowdy elements. Some categories, including economic offenses, rose slightly.
