Andhra Pradesh signs deals for four new plants to turn municipal waste into power. The total rises to six, helping manage 7,500 tonnes of daily waste.

Amaravati, December 23, 2025: State power companies sealed agreements for four waste-to-energy facilities in Nellore, Kakinada, Kadapa, and Kurnool. Developers include Jindal for two sites and Antony Lara for the others. These plants will add 57 MW of capacity under public-private partnerships.

Two existing plants already operate in Visakhapatnam and Guntur. Officials highlight progress in clearing legacy waste dumps. More projects eye Vijayawada and Tirupati.
