Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) today celebrated its 62nd Foundation Day with great enthusiasm across its extensive network of over 1,250 schools in India and abroad. Founded on December 15, 1963, with merely 20 regimental schools, KVS has blossomed into one of the world's largest school chains, providing uniform and high-quality education to children of Central Government employees, including defence personnel, under the Ministry of Education.

Nationwide, schools organised special assemblies, vibrant cultural programmes, quizzes, exhibitions, and pledge ceremonies to commemorate the Sangathan's journey of excellence and innovation. The KVS Commissioner, in her message, emphasised the institution's growth into a pillar of equitable education, while Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's ongoing support has bolstered efforts to align KVS with the National Education Policy 2020.

Many KVs under the PM SHRI scheme are regularly getting central funds for upgrading the infrastructure and innovation, including computer upskill centres development. These initiatives focus on modern facilities, experiential learning, and skill-building in areas like STEM, robotics, and vocational training on lines of NEP policy.
