Amaravati, December 10, 2025: Tirupati police arrested assistant professors Laxman Kumar and A. Sekhar Reddy on December 9 for sexually assaulting a student from Odisha at National Sanskrit University.
The case, filed under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections on rape and criminal force, expanded after her recorded statement and witness evidence. A team visited her hometown to gather details, formalising arrests by evening. Superintendent L. Subbarayudu vowed zero tolerance for such crimes, urging direct complaints to stations.
