Amaravati, December 09, 2025: Actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay, chief of Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, addressed a controlled rally in Puducherry's Uppalam Expo Ground, his first since a September stampede in Karur claimed 41 lives.

Over 1,000 police enforced 31 rules: attendance limited to 5,000 locals via QR passes, no entry for Tamil Nadu residents, children, elderly, or pregnant women. Vijay arrived by 10:30 a.m. in his campaign vehicle, speaking from its rooftop till 12:30 p.m. without a stage or procession. TVK cadres hailed his call for shared Tamil bonds, vowing party flags in 2026 elections.
