Amaravati, December 09, 2025: Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation kicked off National Handicrafts Week on December 8, rolling out events across districts to honour traditional crafts.

Key spots include Onipenta in YSR Kadapa for brass training on December 10, Durgi in Palnadu for a design workshop on December 12, and toolkit handouts in Madhavamala, Srikalahasti, and K.D. Peta through December 14. A Gandhi Shilp Bazaar follows in Rajamahendravaram from December 15-21, featuring 40 creators.

Three local talents—D. Sivamma in leather puppetry, G. Santosh in Etikoppaka toys, and P. Vijayalakshmi in Kalamkari nabbed national awards for 2023-24, presented in New Delhi on December 9. Wood banks and Lepakshi Emporia discounts round out the push.
