Amaravati, December 05, 2025: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has placed Amaravati's development on a high-speed track, directing officials to prioritise "speed and quality" in construction while ensuring every building reflects a "distinctive design and environmental harmony" to position the capital as a "creative city."

At a Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) meeting on Thursday, Naidu cleared administrative sanctions for the Governor's residence (Lok Bhavan) at Rs 169 crore in Uddandarayunipalem and the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy at Rs 165 crore, alongside a Rs 7,380 crore loan from NABARD for infrastructure. Tenders worth Rs 532 crore for the Seed Access Road linking to NH 16 were approved, with work to commence soon, and 2024-25 statistical reports were greenlit.

The push extends to land pooling for the second phase, targeting 16,666 acres across seven villages for the International Sports City, Inner Ring Road, and railway track, with farmers expressing willingness provided a 10-year benefit package is assured. Naidu emphasised beautification and a grand N.T. Rama Rao statue at Neerukonda, incorporating Telugu icons like Alluri Sitarama Raju and Potti Sriramulu for cultural pride.

"Amaravati must inspire with its design and greenery," he said, noting 85 works are underway, including offices, residences, roads, and utilities, with 15 Anganwadi centres, schools, and health buildings ready for December inauguration. Officials' housing is slated for March, and the Seed Access Road to Mangalagiri by January-end, followed by NH 16 linkage.
