Amaravati, December 05, 2025: In a heartening display of renewed faith, more than 500 farmers who contributed land for Amaravati's first phase in 2015 have voluntarily offered to pool additional acres for the capital's second phase, covering 16,666 acres across seven villages, provided the government addresses their long-standing demands for annuity payments and returnable plot allotments.
The gesture, expressed during a meeting with Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) officials at the Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi office, underscores the farmers' enduring commitment to the greenfield project's vision, despite years of uncertainty under the previous regime's three-capitals model.
APCRDA Vice Chairman Vinay Chandran welcomed the support, assuring resolutions within three months through a dedicated verification process, including audits of claims and prioritisation of road and utility works in returnable layouts.
"We value the farmers' trust and will ensure every promise is met promptly," Chandran stated, outlining plans to integrate the new acquisitions with the master plan for a unified administrative hub. The group emphasised inflation-adjusted annuities currently Rs 50,000 annually and priority housing in developed zones to make the sacrifice worthwhile.
