Amaravati, December 04, 2025: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu laid out a five-point blueprint to revitalise Andhra Pradesh's agriculture the livelihood of 62% of the population, by shifting to market-led crops, allied activities like dairy and aquaculture, and modern techniques to curb over-reliance on single staples amid volatile prices.
"Agriculture must adapt to demand; waste water, lose wealth," Naidu said at a Vijayawada review, directing officials to interlink Krishna and Godavari rivers, bolster groundwater recharge, and fortify reservoirs and canals to irrigate every acre efficiently.
Rayalaseema, the drought-prone heartland, will bloom into a horticulture haven with coffee, cocoa, citrus, and dates, drawing on Araku Coffee's natural farming success for higher yields and healthier soils.
The plan's pillars, remunerative prices, reoriented production, allied diversification, tech adoption, and irrigation upgrades aim to triple farmer incomes in five years, backed by Rs 40,000 crore investments. Naidu contrasted the NDA's focus with the previous regime's "financial distress," noting Rs 13.25 lakh crore secured at the CII Summit for 20 lakh jobs.
Welfare anchors include no power hikes, Rs 15,000 Thalliki Vandanam stipends, Deepam 2.0 free LPG, Stree Shakti women's bus rides, 16,347 teacher hires via Mega DSC, and Rs 20,000 Annadata Sukhibhava aid. Raithanna Meekosam forums will foster farmer innovations, honouring grassroots ideas with patents.
