Amaravati, December 02, 2025: The Anti-Corruption Bureau Court in Vijayawada dismissed a high-profile liquor policy case against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday, following a comprehensive Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department probe that uncovered no irregularities in granting permissions to distilleries during his 2014-19 tenure.

The FIR, filed on October 28, 2023, by then-Commissioner of Distilleries D. Vasudeva Reddy, accused Naidu, former minister Kollu Ravindra, and IAS officer I.S. Naresh of causing an annual Rs 1,300 crore loss through favouritism in issuing Letters of Intent (LoI) against committee advice, allowing new brands post-March 2019 without transparency, extending SPY Agro Industries' LoI in Nandyal, and over-approving capacities for firms like PMK Distilleries and Visakha Distilleries.

The CID's closure report, backed by a No Objection Certificate from the Excise Commissioner, found no basis for prosecution, leading the court to formally drop the charges.

Naidu, who faced the summons amid ongoing political battles, hailed the verdict as "vindication of truth," stating it clears the path for focused governance without distractions. TDP leaders echoed the sentiment, calling the case a "fabricated vendetta" by the previous YSRCP regime to tarnish the party's legacy.
