The Andhra Pradesh government strongly condemns a political party for disseminating false information through its social media handles about the distribution of social security pensions. It is unacceptable to falsely accuse the administration of imposing cuts on existing pensions and pin the blame on Honourable Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Claims that thousands of pensions are being slashed each month under flimsy pretexts hold no truth whatsoever.
For December, a staggering Rs. 2,739 crore was disbursed to 6,325,999 individuals. Additionally, to clear backlogs, Rs. 114 crore was released to 139,677 people pending for two months, and Rs. 16 crore to 13,325 individuals awaiting for three months. Such diligent efforts in ensuring seamless pension delivery make it all the more deplorable to peddle lies and mislead the public.
Spreading disinformation sows confusion and erodes trust. Please cease these malicious campaigns on social media immediately. Citizens are urged to rely on verified official channels for accurate updates.
