Amaravati, November 29, 2025: Amid the half-built skyline of a city once mired in limbo, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan stood on a patch of freshly turned earth Friday, laying the foundation for what he called Amaravati's "financial fortress.

" The ceremony, graced by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, marked the official start of headquarters for 15 major banks and insurance giants, Reserve Bank of India, State Bank of India, NABARD, Bank of India, Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda, IDBI, LIC, and others on plots totalling over 20 acres.

"This is rare: institutions like Bank of India, Indian Bank, and LIC setting up together," Kalyan said, his voice carrying over the chants of workers. The Rs 1,328 crore project promises 6,500 jobs, a Banking Street to accelerate deals, and a surge in investor faith for a capital reborn.
