Amaravati, November 28, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department arrested Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams executive engineer M Rajasekhar Reddy in the ongoing laddu ghee adulteration case, charging him with irregularities in procurement during his 2021-2024 tenure.

The arrest, the fifth in the investigation sparked by Supreme Court directives, stems from evidence of substandard ghee supplies contaminated with animal fats used in the sacred prasadam.

Reddy, who oversaw vendor contracts, was taken into custody after questioning revealed lapses in quality checks and tender processes favouring select firms.

The CID, probing a racket that allegedly compromised 20 crore laddus annually, has seized documents showing Reddy's sign-off on payments to Bhole Baba Dairy despite lab red flags. Former TTD Chairman Y V Subba Reddy, already questioned.
