Amaravati, November 28, 2025: Andhra Pradesh has procured 8.22 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in the current Kharif season, crediting Rs 1,713 crore directly to farmers' accounts within four to six hours, Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar announced on Wednesday.
The purchases, at Rs 1,792 per 75 kg bag under the Minimum Support Price, prioritise fine-quality rice for the mid-day meal scheme, with the state aiming for a full 51 lakh tonnes as per central guidelines based on e-Crop bookings.
Krishna district led with a record 1.07 lakh tonnes, while Godavari areas exceeded 1 lakh tonnes, aided by 2,715 registered trucks for transport, up from 394 in 2022-23.
