Amaravati, November 28, 2025: Nearly 500 farmers who pooled land for Amaravati in 2015 expressed readiness to donate more acres for the capital's second phase, provided the government addresses long-pending demands like annuity arrears and development of returnable plots.
Meeting with APCRDA officials at their association office, the group highlighted the need for immediate Rs 50,000 annual payments and infrastructure in layouts to sustain trust in the project. APCRDA Vice Chairman Vinay Chandran assured resolution within three months, including plot allotments and road works.
The farmers, organized under the Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi, stressed their initial sacrifice of 33,000 acres was for a unified capital, not the abandoned three-capitals model. They urged prioritizing their grievances to unlock further contributions.
