Amaravati, November 26, 2025: In a moment that blended global stardom with grassroots education, former England captain and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador David Beckham spent four hours at the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Andhra Pradesh Backward Classes Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (MJPAPBCWREIS) school for girls in Kothavalasa, Visakhapatnam, witnessing the transformative power of project-based learning (PBL) firsthand.
The visit, part of Education Above All's (EAA) global initiative supported by Mantra4Change, saw Beckham sit in on interactive sessions where students tackled real-world problems in English, math, and science, fostering collaboration and critical thinking in a setting designed for 18,000 girls across 107 Andhra schools.
The day peaked with a playful one-touch football drill, Beckham deftly passing the ball amid cheers, his laughter echoing as he high-fived participants. "Great day in India, going back to school supporting Education Above All’s project-based learning initiatives so much fun," he posted on Instagram, capturing the joy of the exchange.
Secretary P. Madhavi Latha of MJPAPBCWREIS beamed, "It gives us great joy that Sir David Beckham chose to visit one of our MJP schools. His presence at our school in a place like Kothavalasa is a reminder that when we work with the right intent and dedication, extraordinary things can happen."
