Amaravati, November 27, 2025: In a vibrant celebration of Constitution Day, students from various districts of Andhra Pradesh stepped into the roles of lawmakers at the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat in Amaravati, conducting a mock assembly that buzzed with youthful debates on governance and rights.
The event, organised by the state government, saw participants articulate ideas on topics such as education reform and environmental protection with striking clarity and enthusiasm, turning the hallowed halls into a classroom of democracy. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu observed the proceedings, calling it a "heartening sight" that fosters early civic awareness.
The mock session featured elected "MLAs" from schools, who drafted resolutions and voted on mock bills, mirroring the real legislative process. Naidu praised the poise of the young speakers, saying, "Watching them engage with such confidence is truly inspiring and a valuable lesson in our democratic ethos." The initiative, part of a broader Constitution Day program, included sessions on fundamental rights and duties, engaging over 500 students.
