Amaravati, November 26, 2025: The Vijayawada-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, a semi-high-speed service connecting Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka via Tirupati, is set to roll out on December 10, promising to slash the 12-hour road journey to just 8 hours for commuters and business travellers.
The train will depart Vijayawada at 5:15 a.m., reaching Bengaluru by 1:15 p.m., with intermediate stops at key stations to facilitate seamless connectivity in the coastal corridor. This marks the first direct rail link between the two cities, boosting trade and tourism in the region.
The initiative aligns with Indian Railways' push for premium services, featuring modern amenities like Wi-Fi, charging ports, and ergonomic seating for 1,128 passengers. Officials expect it to ease congestion on NH16 and foster economic ties, with early bookings opening soon at Rs 1,500-3,000 per ticket.
