Amaravati, November 26, 2025: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has commissioned a comprehensive study of the village secretariat system, introduced in 2020 to empower local governance, with instructions to finalise staff promotions and structural improvements by March 2026.
The directive, issued during a review meeting with Panchayat Raj and Rural Development officials, aims to address delays in career progression for over 1.5 lakh employees who handle community services like welfare distribution and grievance redressal.
Kalyan emphasized timely appraisals to boost morale and efficiency, noting the system's role in delivering schemes to 1.3 crore rural households but highlighting bottlenecks in promotions due to administrative backlogs.
