Amaravati, November 25, 2025: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to enforce rigorous standards in SC, ST, and BC welfare hostels, warning of immediate action for even minor failures in sanitation, safe water, or student safety, focusing on 4.17 lakh students across residential schools and hostels.

Key measures include installing RO water plants, conducting regular medical exams with blood tests, maintaining digital health records, testing water for contaminants, and providing gender-specific counselling.

Naidu approved Rs 40 crore for pending toilet construction in 20% of facilities and set up a joint command control room across Panchayat Raj, Municipal Administration, Health, and Welfare departments to monitor compliance, especially in remote agency areas.

"Any negligence or dereliction of duty will not be tolerated," he stated, emphasising accountability to prevent past lapses in hygiene and well-being. The initiative aims to elevate living conditions and foster emotional support.
