Amaravati, November 26, 2025: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu rolled out a Rs 40,000 crore initiative to revitalise Rayalaseema and Prakasam agriculture, focusing on horticulture to combat drought and create 5 lakh jobs over five years.
The five-point strategy, announced at a Kurnool review meeting, includes drip irrigation for 2 lakh hectares, cold storage chains, and export linkages for mangoes, pomegranates, and lemons, aiming to triple farmer incomes in Anantapur, Kurnool, YSR Kadapa, and Prakasam.
Naidu emphasised the region's untapped potential, pledging Rs 10,000 crore annually for subsidies on seeds, tech, and processing units to cut wastage from 30% to 10%.
