Amaravati, November 25, 2025: A cyclonic circulation over the southeast Bay of Bengal and south Andaman Sea is poised to evolve into a low-pressure area within the next 24 hours, potentially strengthening into a depression by November 26, bringing light to moderate rainfall to Andhra Pradesh's coastal belt, according to the India Meteorological Department.
The system, currently 400 km southeast of Visakhapatnam, is expected to track west-northwestward, influencing weather in south coastal districts like Nellore and Prakasam with isolated showers. In contrast, north coastal areas remain largely dry.
State disaster management officials have issued advisories for fishermen to avoid the sea and for coastal communities to prepare for possible gusts up to 40 kmph, though no red alerts are in place. The forecast aligns with the active cyclone season in the Bay, following Montha's recent landfall.
