Amaravati, November 24, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh government has rolled out a free UPSC civil services coaching initiative for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, providing 100 seats in Visakhapatnam to bridge access gaps for underprivileged aspirants.

The program, announced by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, includes tuition, study materials, hostel facilities, and a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000, with classes kicking off in January 2026 at a dedicated centre run by the Andhra Pradesh State Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society.

Selection will be merit-based through an entrance test in December, targeting youth from rural and coastal areas where coaching costs often deter talent. The move aims to boost representation in civil services, where SC/ST quotas stand at 15% but success rates lag due to financial hurdles.
