Amaravati, November 22, 2025: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called for establishing food processing facilities in each of Andhra Pradesh's 175 assembly constituencies to transform agriculture into a value-driven sector, emphasising the need to minimise post-harvest losses and maximise earnings for farmers.
Speaking at a high-level meeting with agriculture and industry officials, Naidu highlighted the state's rich produce like mangoes, chillies, and prawns, urging integrated clusters that link farms to markets through cold chains and packaging.
The initiative aims to create 5 lakh jobs and add Rs 50,000 crore to the rural economy within five years, with incentives for private players to set up units in underserved areas. Naidu stressed technology adoption, like AI for sorting and blockchain for traceability, to compete globally.
