Amaravati, November 22, 2025: Andhra Pradesh will roll out Kalalaku Rekkala from the 2026 academic year, offering free higher education to girl students across government and private institutions, IT Minister Nara Lokesh announced Friday.
The scheme covers tuition, hostel, and mess fees for undergraduate and postgraduate courses, aiming to empower women and boost enrollment rates that lag in rural areas.
Lokesh, addressing a women's conference, said the initiative fulfills a Super Six promise, with the government bearing full costs to remove financial barriers. "Every girl deserves wings to dream big," he stated, projecting benefits for over 5 lakh students annually.
