Amaravati, November 22, 2025: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced a bold target to construct 17 lakh houses over the next three years under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, aiming for 5 lakh units annually to address the state's massive housing shortage.

The initiative, launched at a high-level meeting with officials, will leverage public-private partnerships and central funds to prioritise urban slums and rural poor, with Rs 10,000 crore allocated for the first phase alone. Naidu emphasised technology integration, like AI for site selection and drone surveys, to speed up delivery and cut costs by 20%.

The plan includes 6 lakh rural and 11 lakh urban dwellings, focusing on eco-friendly designs and skill training for 50,000 youth in construction. Naidu vowed to complete the PMAY drive by 2027, ahead of the national deadline.
