Amaravati, November 21, 2025: A Special Investigation Team interrogated former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams chairman YV Subba Reddy for nearly five hours on Thursday in connection with the alleged adulteration of ghee used for Tirupati laddus.
The questioning, at a Vijayawada facility, focused on procurement decisions during his term, following lab reports confirming substandard ghee with animal fats in samples from 2021-2024. Subba Reddy, a YSRCP leader, denied wrongdoing, calling the probe "politically motivated" and vowing cooperation.
The SIT, formed after Supreme Court directives, has already arrested suppliers and TTD officials, uncovering a racket that compromised the sanctity of the prasadam.
