Amaravati, November 20, 2025: The 2024 Andhra Pradesh elections drew a sharp line between N Chandrababu Naidu's TDP-led NDA and Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRCP, with the former staging a stunning reversal to claim 164 seats against YSRCP's 11.
Naidu's campaign hammered "governance paralysis" under Jagan, spotlighting stalled projects like Amaravati and debt burdens, while promising job creation and industrial revival. Jagan countered with welfare continuity, free bus rides and pensions, but voters punished perceived arrogance and economic stagnation, delivering the TDP its biggest mandate since 2014.
The contrast crystallised in turnout: urban and youth swung to TDP, rural pockets held for YSRCP's schemes, but not enough. Naidu's alliance with the BJP and Jana Sena broadened appeal, while Jagan's solo run exposed isolation.
