Newsroom, November 19, 2025: Delhi's literary circles are embracing a new trend: silent book clubs, where participants gather in public spaces for an hour of uninterrupted personal reading before casual conversations over coffee.

Started in San Francisco in 2012 by Guinevere de la Mare and Christopher, the concept has spread to over 500 chapters worldwide, reaching India in 2019 and Delhi in 2023, with groups like the one at Kunzum Cafe in GK-II.

Members praise the format for removing the burden of assigned texts or forced discussions, allowing freedom to read anything from thrillers to poetry.
