Newsroom, November 19, 2025: A 28-year-old Indian woman from Andhra Pradesh, eight months pregnant, was killed when her car was set ablaze in a Sydney suburb on Tuesday night, with her husband and unborn child also perishing in the targeted attack.

The couple, residents of Australia for several years, were trapped inside the vehicle in a quiet residential street before emergency services arrived; the woman died at the scene, while her husband succumbed to injuries in hospital.

New South Wales police have launched a homicide investigation, treating the incident as deliberate after accelerant traces were found.

The victims, identified as software professionals, leave behind grieving families in India. Australian authorities are reviewing CCTV and witness statements.
