Amaravati, November 19, 2025: Andhra Pradesh will launch 13 new blood component separation centres at government hospitals by December's end, boosting access to safe platelets, plasma, and red cells for critical care.
Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said the Rs 50 crore project, funded centrally, targets districts like Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, and Tirupati to cut reliance on private banks and reduce transfusion risks.
The units will process 1 lakh donations yearly, with trained staff and modern equipment for quick response in emergencies.
